My daughter is 7 and she really loves Junie B. books, and so do I!! They are soo funny! We also enjoy the Veggie Tale books and we own all the children books by Max Lucado, they are very good christian based books. I think they are great for all ages. I have a good idea, something we do often, is go to the library. Let them pick each pick out one book and meet @ a reading location to see what they have in mind. Let them read there "short" book, and them have everyone get together to talk about there book. You can read to the younger one if they don't already know how. Well, have fun!! Reading is alot of fun!!

I suggest starting with new books only. Take trade-ins for store credit to get your used book stock; that way you are not hosed with severely damaged copies bought sight unseen.
Depending on where oversees you are, there should be plenty of book distributors to fill your needs. In the United States, Ingram Entertainment is the largest media distributor around-handling books, music, and DVDs. Unfortunately, you can not combine media types on your orders (books orders are separate from movie orders and music orders). However, Ingram is pretty easy to set-up with. I don't know how extensive their inventory is for books and music; but they have an incredible supply of DVDs and VHS (just make sure the regional formatting works where you are).

There’s no teacher in my version of this book, it’s a monkey, instead. And that’s my little boy’s fave bit… “MONKEY!!!!!!!!!!”

Try getting ten of your friends together at a party and tell them you want them to come up with a name for your children's bookstore. As they loosen up they'll come up with really good names.

I had a box (an average size, something you'd find in an office) loaded with books, mostly paperback from when i was 12 children-Y.A books.
I also had maybe 6 hardcovers all about 600 pages.
every books was in perfect condition as well since they hadn't been read even.
this entire load landed me with 23 dollars.
the worst thing you could sell is college books.
They cost so much money (about $100) and sell for about $10.
I would try to sell those to next year students first.
Basically, they go by the resale ability. If it will be an easy resale- you'll end up getting more money for it.
SO if you have a book that is popular, but not really stocked in the store, then you'll get more money.

Store them inside in a climate controlled environment if you can. IF not, use airtight containers which is a step above most rough tote type containers, to be something like giant tupperware.
I would avoid mothballs because they are toxic and after they come out of storage they will be in the hands of little children. Try a safe essential oil soaked in a cotton ball if you don't want them to smell musty. Or you can get some hamster shavings (made of cedar) or a block of cedar from the hardware store and toss in with the books. Just dust them off before use, and you are all set. These should keep the pests out.
I would think your bigger enemy is humidity. Which is why I would suggest keeping them indoors if you can do so. You might be able to stash them in a box under the bed?

Yeah, I find it disturbing that on Noggin (Nick Jr., pre-school shows for kids) they do pro-Obama commercials for children as well. When my 5 year old comes up to me talking about how great Obama is, I think it's wrong and it bothers me. My children are far too young to even understand politics. And they shouldn't have a biased source telling them who is great and who is not. They should be able to make up their own mind wether or not they think someone is great, when they are old enough to understand. It's one thing to say "This is the president of the United States" but it's another thing to praise him when he hasn't even done anything good for America yet. I've thought about not letting them watch Noggin anymore. I don't want my children to be brainwashed.

in mu country the only people that seem to be allowed of childrens`education at schools are just young women.. i love an older man singing with that ethusiasm as this teacher does. I guess kids would love hearing him too. Benkyu, your kid is smarter than all of us! jajajaj
