Actually I think Eric Carle is the author of this book not Bill Martin, although he does a good job narrating…

Perosally, I'm a 13 year old girl and my some of my favorite books are Go Ask Alice, Crank, and The Clique Series. For good literature, maybe get The Notebook or A Walk to Remember. Ohh, I don't know. I'm 13, and those are some books I love :]

I don't have a book suggestion, but I think it would be good to include a "Cookie Mix in a Jar" as part of the gift. You put in all the dry ingredients and attach the recipe and the kids add all the wet stuff, mix and bake. It would be a great first thing for them to bake and make it really fun so they will want to try to make some from "scratch." There are some good choices on this site:

Are you okay?

Too bad this is so long, because most people will not read all of it, but they should because it is hilarious!

Sounds to me like you are a very good person and you should be proud of yourself for that. Please don't waste another minute on these toxic family members. It is indeed time to focus on only the positive things in your life. Life is just too darn short to have so much negativity. When you close one door another door opens. Start a new wonderful journey and start living for just you and your daughter.

K.
I just had a baby 12 weeks ago. I also had the epidural.
I can tell you it was GREAT!! No less than 5 minutes after receiving it I was so calm and relaxed I could nap in full blown labor.
I felt NOTHING, no contractions, even the ones peaking off the monitor screen. I did not feel while pushing nor him coming out nor the Dr. stitching up my very mild tear.
Not only was my 2nd and 3rd stage of labor pain free but it also sped up my labor. Once I had the epidural at 3:40 I had my baby at 8:40 just 5 hrs later and with only 12 minutes of pushing.
I never had the mother instinct, people brought their babies to work and I couldn't care less. But now that I have my own, it is completely different. I love my Little baby so much, there isn't one thing I wouldn't do for him. I melt when I look at him and I can't even watch those diaper rash commercials with the crying babies without holding my son closer to me
But I am also 32, at 20 a kid was the furthest thing from my mind.
